Reception for the Commemoration of the March 11 Earthquake and Tsunami

 

On March 26 His Excellency Yoshimasa Tezuka, Ambassador of Japan held a reception to commemorate the anniversary of the March 11 Earthquake and Tsunami which struck Japan.

 

In his address to the audience, Ambassador thanked the people of Trinidad and Tobago for their support and kind gestures during this ordeal and pledged his country's support in sharing the knowledge learnt from this expereince with the global community.

 

The Guest of Honour was Dr. the Honourable Surujrattan Rambachan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Communications who addressed the audience and spoke of Japan's resilience in the face of adversity. Also addressing the audience was journalist Ms. Ria Taitt, who was invited by the Government of Japan to tour the affected areas and interview officials responsible for the reconstruction.

 

The reception featured pictures of the reconstruction in the Tohku Region as well as the cultural scenery in this region.
