Certificate Information
The Embassy of Japan issues certain types of certificates. If you need to apply for a certificate please contact the Consular Section for information before making an application.
1. Police Certificate
A Police Certificate is certified by the Japanese National Police Agency, and indicates whether the applicant has a criminal record in Japan or not.
Required Documents for application:
(1) Application form (available at Japanese Embassy office)
(2) Valid passport
(3) Fingerprint sheet (available at Japanese Embassy office)
(4) Document which states applicant’s present address such as driver's license (if possible)
(5) Old passport which has immigration stamps or Japanese visa (if possible)
Fee: Free of charge
Processing Time: Approximately 2 - 3 months
2. Certificate of Translation
The Certificate of Translation certifies that the translated document submitted by the applicant is correct and corresponds with the original document in Japanese. The Embassy of Japan does NOT translate documents.
Required Documents for application:
(1) Application form (Available at Japanese Embassy office)
(2) Japanese original document
(3) Translated document
Fee: TT $210
Processing Time: 7 days
