JET Programme Send Off Reception
His Excellency Tatsuaki Iwata, Ambassador of Japan, hosted a reception at his residence on August 29, 2010, for the twelve (12) individuals selected for the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme.
In attendance from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were Deputy Permanent Secretary Ms. Joan Mendez, Acting Chief of Protocol Dr. Paul Byer, and Protocol Officer for Japan, Ms. Sonja Tyson.
The JET Programme is an esteemed exchange programme aimed at promoting grassroots exchanges between Japan and the International community. Participants will strive to fulfill the programme's mission in their dual roles of Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) and as Caribbean Ambassadors. The participants represent three (3) caribbean countries, and are listed as follows:
