Hanami or flower viewing is the Japanese traditional custom of enjoying the transient beauty of flowers, most often referring to cherry blossoms. Starting towards the end of March and lasting until the beginning of May, cherry blossoms – sakura, as well as plum trees – ume are in blossom all around the country.
