Friends of Japan Series: Japanese Artwork - Nneka Edwards
My name is Nneka Edwards and I am a former JET (I taught at a senior high school and two elementary schools in Saitama, just outside of Tokyo between 2006 and 2007). Professionally speaking, I currently wear many hats and one of them is "art teacher". In relation to this, I am happy to be sharing some of the artwork done by my kinders (and their parents) whom I teach here in Trinidad at a preschool called Happy Hearts. The children are aged 3 to 5. Last term, our theme was (blow whistles!) Japan and we did the following pieces in our online Zoom classes:
  • A Red Sun
  • Cherry Blossom Tree (which can also double as pink poui)
  • Japanese Lanterns
  • A Kimono Lady
You can see some of the pieces here. Do enjoy!

Note: original designs by yours truly (Nneka Edwards)
