My name is Shadae Daniel, a 24 year old who grew up on the island of Tobago. I am a highly motivated individual with a passion for research and writing. My qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Literature and a minor in Communications from the University of the West Indies.

Working abroad is something I always wanted to experience as it provides personal growth, insights into other cultures, and can foster a global network of connections. This is why I decided to obtain a certificate to teach English as a foreign language from the TEFL academy.

One of the most gratifying aspects of the human experience is our capacity to connect with others through various means such as language and culture. Therefore, when I heard about the Japan Exchange Teaching Programme, I jumped at the opportunity.

Language is one of the most significant connections to other cultures. As a Japan Exchange Teacher, I will be able to learn about the culture of the country, while having the opportunity to share my own culture. The knowledge that I gain will be shared with my fellow citizens. This will give them insight to a country that they may not have visited. Altogether, teaching in Japan will allow me to make a difference in the lives of others as much as it would broaden my mind about the beliefs and traditions of Japan.
